The weather forecast predicted a completely cloudy day, but what a beautiful surprise! As soon as our tour started, the clouds parted, and the majestic Mt. Fuji showed its stunning view.
Our tour guide, KYOKO, just sent us these amazing live photos from May 20th. Because of the cloudy forecast, some people canceled, resulting in a very cozy, small-group tour. However, our guests turned this into an advantage—they bonded like family and had an incredibly fun, personal experience together!
Mountain weather changes rapidly, so a cloudy forecast in Tokyo doesn’t mean your trip is ruined. Even if the peak is briefly hidden, the volcanic valley of Owakudani always offers a dramatic, mystical atmosphere. Today, our close-knit group enjoyed eating the famous “Kuro-tamago” (black eggs boiled in natural hot springs) together, which are said to add seven years to your life!
While Tokyo is getting hot—reaching nearly 30°C (86°F) recently—the temperature drops significantly at Mt. Fuji’s 5th Station and in Hakone during the late afternoon. It can still feel quite chilly! We highly recommend bringing a light jacket or hoodie so you can stay comfortable throughout the day.
