We really enjoyed it, we had lunch in a traditional japanese restaurant and it was amazing! I definitely recommend it!
The trip was so fun! Saw many landmarks and enjoyed enough walking time to enjoy the landmarks and beautiful gardens. Guides were very friendly and informative
Excellent way to orient yourself in Tokyo. You see the key sights, and spend time at some. We learned a lot about the history and culture of Japan from our brilliant guide Yuki.
Asako was fantastic! It felt like a private tour, I learned so much about the local culture, landmarks etc. We saw two weddings on the unluckiest day of the year at Meji Shrine. I was able to participate in prayers, incense burning and other local customs. It felt like going with a trusted friend vs bored tour guide. Any future tours, I will book with Asako!
From hotel pick up to drop off, it was an excellent experience. We had a morning guide and an afternoon guide who took the time to explain the significance of each site and answered our questions. Lunch was delicious.
Yuki was the best tour guide we have ever had. Her deep knowledge of local culture and history brought every moment to life. She communicated clearly and kept our group well organized. She always anticipated our needs with kindness and professionalism. What set Yuki apart was her warmth and genuine care; she made us feel like honored guests, not just tourists. Every detail was thoughtfully handled, and her enthusiasm was contagious. It was an unforgettable experience thanks to Yuki’s expertise and heart.
This was an excellent way to visit some of the most important sights in Tokyo in an easy, comfortable way. The pickup/drop-off service was very helpful, and the tour guide was friendly and informative. A number of the sights were only experienced as a drive-by, but the actual visits to the Meiji Shrine and the Hamarikyu Gardens were great. It's worth purchasing the lunch - we had a lovely lunch at an old, traditional restaurant. Unfortunately, no bathroom on the bus.
We had a wonderful experience on this tour! The company was very organized getting us to the bus and our guide was friendly, informative and helpful at the end with figuring out how to get back to our hotel (not one of the places they do pickups). We signed up the for the full-day tour which had pickup from a nearby hotel at 8:10AM. As the day progressed we realized this was not going to end at 4PM but more like 7:00PM or 7:30PM. We decided to peel off from the group after the river boat ride because with our limited time in town we had things we wanted to do. Even so, we definitely felt that we got the full value out of what we paid and there was no problem with us leaving when we did. I would sign up and take this tour again, but I might only do the morning half because it was a very efficient use of time.
Very fun and comprehensive overview of Tokyo. Nice to take when you first get to the City so you can preview different neighborhoods and get some background on their history. Our guide Yuki was very knowledgeable and super friendly. It was less exhausting than some tours where you walk 10 miles, and it included going up into Tokyo Tower, having a fantastic lunch at a lovely restaurant (the vegetarian option was excellent!), and even a short boat ride.
Tour company Japan Gray Line is very efficient, the tour guide was very knowledgeable, kind and helpful, pick up drop off was on time. I enjoyed the tour,
Yuki was a wonderful guide. Mix of time seeing sites from the bus and off. Lots of Japanese history shared throughout! From the hotel pickup to drop off the staff was accommodating and polite! I had a day to explore Tokyo and I’m very glad I chose this tour.
Excellent tour and real value for money. Very comfortable coach delicious lunch and excellent guides especially Yuko who is the best guide we have ever had anywhere in the world. Picked up from our hotel at 9.30 am and dropped back there at 6.30 pm.
This was an overall good experience. The tour guides were knowledgeable. However, lunch was just OK and would’ve been nice if it came with an explanation of the foods and Japanese culture. The boat cruise came with no explanation and wasn’t really enjoyable for me.
Both guides were pleasant and knowledgeable. The cruise portion cancelled from tsunami warning which was fairly reimbursed. Professional and friendly. Only recommended for those who can walk distances, and heat tolerant in July. Some had difficulty with humid heat or distances walked, and you can not stay on air conditioned bus.
The Tokyo 1-Day Bus Tour, hotel pick-up and drop-off, Japan Gray Line was amazing! This is thanks to their exceptional service, care and hospitality. My family and I have used other tour services when traveling on vacation, and this was my mother and my most favorite tour by far! Huge credit goes to the entire team for making this trip so fun, exciting, and absolutely first class. The tour was smooth and scenic, and provided first class quality service and care. We received wonderful recommendations and insights not only for the tour, but also for other exciting features and activities for Tokyo overall. Because of the team's wonderful help, we are planning to comeback to Tokyo with family so they can experience how special this tour is, and we can enjoy the other exciting tours Japan Gray Line offers as well! There is no other tour in Tokyo that offered bus pick-up and drop-off service for each customer, the bus was very comfortable and clean, the itinerary was incredible - while still being affordable! Even before the tour, the team was very engaging and responsive our meal customizations due to dietary limits, to answering other questions. The team exemplified class, empathy, care, and understanding the importance of the customer experience.
Taken to some very interesting places however too many people were booked from many hotels which were a long way from each other, which caused being late and caught in traffic. No toilet stops but people caused more delays going. Communication from guide was poor.
Was a reasonably good tour with good tour guides. Too much free time at Sensoji Buddhist temple. Tour started and finished late.
It did give a quick overview of central Tokyo. We did have adequate time on our own at the stops. Enjoyed the lunch provided.
Exactly what I wanted (i.e. maximized sightseeing during my one day Tokyo visit) - and the guides (there were two of them) spoke very good / easily understandable English. As per the advance tour description we visited the Meiji Jingu Shrine, Tokyo Tower, Hama-Rikyu Gardens, the Asakusa Kannon (Sensoji Buddhist) Temple, and took a Sumida River Cruise; we also passed-by Harajuku, Shibuya Crossing, Roppongi, the Imperial Palace, the National Diet, Ginza, the Tokyo Skytree, Kappabashi Town, and Ueno & Akihabara. There was also a surprisingly good Japanese-style Lunch. It's a long day (especially since I took trains from and back-to Yokohama) but that's necessary to see as much of Tokyo as possible. Highly recommended tour & guides - arigato!
Very good tour. Excellent guides. Very enjoyable lunch. Steady but not too demanding an activity. Well worth taking.
Gray Line provided a well organised trip. They packed in so many sights, the guides gave interesting insights into the sights, the culture and about what it is like to live in Tokyo. The lunch was at a lovely restaurant and was delicious. The trip exceeded our expectations and I would definitely recommend.
Absolutely outstanding! We were lost arrived late and missed the bus pickup. They left a staff member at the hotel and they called ahead to the bus grabbed a cab and took us to meet it. Tour it’s self was also great but the service 5 stars.
Absolutely fantastic and feature packed day, Our guide Oshi and driver were wonderful, informed and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend this activity.
Very good tour. Excellent guides. Very enjoyable lunch. Steady but not too demanding an activity. Well worth taking.
Very tiring day and the weather was dreadful, very wet and very cold. Our guide changed after the morning session and we did feel a bit sorry for our second guide who happened upon a bus of people who were wet, cold and tired.
It was a very good comprehensive tour of Toyko with parts that I didn’t realise. It was a very long day, lots of walking. Lunch was reasonable size but I had the vegetarian and didn’t get any dessert. And the time on pick up was wrong so would be worthwhile checking with the company when you arrive
Saw a lot of Tokyo's highlights in this tour. Yoshi Hasegawa was a great guide giving just enough information in the sites. He also took photos of our tour members. The lunch was good but a bit hurried. Overall, a great package. Worth the price.
Everything on the tour Is memorable. The guide was ultra friendly and really Knowledgeable. From the top of the world to a space boat!
Great Tour which covered a lot of the best sights in Tokyo - both guides (AM & PM) spoke good English and provided history and good detail at each location!
I had wonderful time visiting most of the attractions in Tokyo in a single day with proper Japanese food for lunch. Each attraction was given enough time to visit. The guide was able to communicate well in English.
Good tour...good pace and covered a lot. Driver guide very polite and informative..started and ended on time
The morning tour was good with Yoshi as a guide. The afternoon was not so much a tour as a bus ride. The guide could not be heard unless you were face to face. Both halves of the tour prove that a group of 40 is unmanageable in crowded areas.
This tour took us to a variety of places in Tokyo. It was very interesting expecially from an air-conditioned bus! We really enjoyed this tour and the lunch was delicious.
The guides were excellent Sakura and Yuki. Driver was very good. Lunch was very poor…did this tour in 2018 and had a fab lunch . Tour is an hour too long as we were all too tired at the end.
